Proper maintenance of fishing tackle is important if you want to keep them in their best state. Fortunately, keeping them in top shape is as easy as cake, at least if you know the basics of cleaning. For beginners, here are the basic maintenance tips that you should know.

The most important tip that you have to keep in mind is to always wash your fishing tackle immediately after every trip. When salt water is left to stay on the equipments for a long time, rougher brushing is needed to remove the salt layer off them.

You can simply use a salt and water solution in cleaning your tools or you can also use Formula 409 mixed with a gallon of water. When cleaning, be conscious of where you place the screws and the springs and always keep a diagram by your side. The latter will serve as your guide for reassembling.
